Helpful Homemaking tip...:
CMU blocks are becoming more and more popluar as a substitute for standard wood-framed exterios walling. They may cost more, but both contractors and homeowners are attracted to the heat-retention, durability, and strength of these blocks. Insulation for these blocks are foamed or pressed into the hollow centers, or applied as a stiff board to the surface in order to improve heat flow resistance. These useful blocks don't rot, don't get eaten by termites, and won't burn. Additionally, walls made from CMU's often bode well with other characteristics too, such as sound-dampening and reducing thermal swings.
In Plumber news...:

Complying with Lunsford Act proves difficult for school districts (Gainesville Sun) - plumber may soon need only one identification badge to work in Pinellas and Hillsborough schools. That same badge would allow a driver who restocks soda machines in Pasco County to gain access to Citrus schools.
