Save time and money when visited by an electrician: In electric panels there's often a spot next to each breaker for noting what that circuit breaker is controlling. This space is usually too small to put much detailed information. Having a writeup of what devices run on what breakers seperate from the panel will help your electrician finish the job faster, and hopefully save you money.
